Oh yeah. They’re so in touch with their audience that they’ve JUST RECENTLY decided to impliment dvd playback in the wii. c’mon anuban, pick a side already!

also, alot of you seem to believe that the next gen console war begins and ends at launch. I DON’T THINK SO. remember, it’s still early and it’s not like Nintendo is entering this war as a return champion. so let’s not get too happy just yet!

I think I would have to move to the moon if Wii sports was actually better than Twilight Princess, which if half the things I’ve heard about it are true, could give Halo 3 a run for it’s money.

Sounds like a Nintendo definitely has their “killer app” ready at launch … unlike you know who … even us 360 owners had to wait until now for our “killer app” in the form of Gears. This is a really great move by Nintendo and shows just how in touch with their audience they are. GJ.

Gamespy.com gave Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii 5/5 stars. Also IGN is saying only good things about it. I think this game alone determines Wii as a better choice, at least during the launch window.

StMadnes is right! Who is this jackass to say Wii Sports is the greatest game of all time? He doesn’t even play videogames. He’s talking about things he doesn’t have a clue about. I don’t know but these kind of responses get me angry. Not the fact that he likes the Wii but the fact that he already claims it the best of all time and he probably could never name no more than 5 games.

Really .. it is three times more powerful making it slightly better than Xbox graphics doesn’t transalate to anything close to what the 360 and the PS3 will and can do graphically over the next 2-3 year span.

And now that you can get a core 360 for just $199 and a premium for $299 … see gamespot news … like I said why don’t they let me do the news around here … some people may take another look at MS’s console and Gears and say well maybe next year for the Wii.

The graphics will get better on the Wii, remember, it’s three times as powerful as the GameCube, and the GameCube was pretty good, just look at Resident Evil 4.

Over time, all three next-gen console will get better looking games, that always happens.

^^ It could happen … don’t laugh. Rememember no one though the last one was going to come to the Xbox initially.

Maybe the gameplay is better in some respects … or they will tweak it to be such but HD graphics are going to be hard to beat out as time goes by and the developers become even more proficent on how to nake the most of the hardware. Still your argument may well be valid … as long as there are fun and innovative games without lots of bugs it could be the hit of the 40-50 something crowd and that definitely guarantees its longevity.

I think so. As long as Nintendo keeps good third party support and do as Reggie says they want to do – have access to all the hit third party games, even the mature-rated ones – I think that Nintendo can’t go wrong. I think there is a good potential for many games that come out for more than one console to end up better on the Wii due to the innovative control system. For example, any FPS is potentially better. I heard a little while back that Nintendo was talking with Take-Two. It would be cool to find out that a GTA game is in the works. I think a GTA game using the remote would simply murder all other GTA games.

Exactly … this is why the Wii will do very well initially as I have previously pointed out. But again will it stand up against the competition 2-3 years out?

But this is great news for the true casual gamers out there and it really gives them something to look forward to this holiday season as well. That’s a very very good thing.
