PS3 Launch Numbers Decreasing

Originally, the PS3 launch numbers for the US were supposed to be somewhere in the 400,000 range. However, new research from Lazard Capital Markets predicts that the launch numbers could be as low as 150,000-200,000. Colin Sebastian, an analyst at Lazard, went on to estimate that Sony will sell only 750,000-800,00 Playstation 3s domestically by the years end.
Hopefully the Lazard research proves to be untrue, but with Sony drastically cutting their distribution amounts to various retailers, Lazard’s research may very well prove correct.

Actually in the long run (2 years out) it doesn’t even matter … believe that … they’ll sell as many as they can make for a long time to come. Lets not forget they still have the European market to focus on in March so really they will seemingly struggle for a bit but watch … it will soon be GAME ON in full.

I agree with that … I hate these scalpers who are really taking advantage of people at this time of year … the time of giving and being nice to one another … yet people are just gouging the hell out of others and using the same tired excuse all people who take advantage of others misfortune … “Well if they are stupid enough to pay” … man that burns me up when I think of all the college students who would love this or even high schoolers who parents know that anything else means a disappointing Christman for their child … and who wants that?
yeah I really do hate these types … I think it is reasonable to double the price … that is market conditions but tripling quadrupling or more is just flat out wrong and Karma is a *bleep* as they say and many people are going to pay for their inconsiderate and extremely selfish behavior and when it happens to them they sad part is they won’t even know why.

Wow … mnakes you wonder why we Americans are so upset about the whole PS3 thing. Its cheaper for us and we are actually getting some systems right at launch … so maybe we should adopt the shut up, sit back, and take notes, mentality at this point.

Actually it isn’t funny … sadly I do predict someone will die over this, a lousy gaming console, just like that tragedy that happened in Florida with an old Xbox system … this world … man.

I still think PS3 is worth the price, it is not just a video game console, but also a complete home theater system and much more.

Paul how is this a COMPLETE HTS? I don’t recall them saying this is coming with speakers and a receiver. It is a gaming console that can show movies .. wow … but you want to make it this grand thing … much like Sony does … hmmm do we have a fanboy here or are you willing to elaborate on the much more part and rephrase the HTS portion of your posts?

well I wouldnt be surprised if the units get cut , I also agree with Paul , I for one didnt think that the Ps3 was gone be able to do as much until I started searchin and really hes right . lol now the space shuttle thing thats over doin it . they cost billions of dollars to make but yet people b*tch about 600 is to much when the console is well worth more . after viewin the future of what this monster can do I will gladly spend 600 for it and if anyone would like to know check out my page on afterdawn.com . we talk about the latest news on the ps3 and pretty much covered it if you want to know

Yeah but what are you actually saying about this “much more” part … what more … what has you so convinced that it is future proof at this point? What is the future that this Monster can do that the 360 can’t match? The Linux operating system? I have a PC for that … just like the web browser … so really what are they bringing to the table that has you so excited? Other than Blu-ray.

yeah you have a point anuban they are pretty much even right now but from what I know you can play a game pause it and get online at the same time to get codes or look at a walkthrough , you can do thangs with the ipods, cams , keyboards put a mouse on it . just like the 360 alot of TV downloads are in as well but yeah you said you have a PC for that so you are cool. its gone be helpful for me so I wont have to get on my computer. I like what it has to offer for $600 . but for some it might not be the best choice for you if you have a great PC. I willin to wait a few months though until all this launch craze dies down and bugs are fixed
