PS3 Software Ratio Is 0.98

Leading Japanese game magazine Famitsu reveals that the PS3 console to software ratio is under one, 0.98 to be precise. This means for each PS3 console sold, 0.98 games are sold. The PS3 launch games are pretty decent, (besides Genji) and the ratio should certainly be better than 0.98. The low ratio also suggests that people are buying consoles to sell them again, like the recent Japanese man who bought a hundred consoles. I doubt he picked up many games.

The best selling games were Ridge Racer 7 (30,300 copies sold), Mobile Suit Gundam (30,000 copies sold) and Resistance: Fall of Man (21,000 copies sold).

This is just a damn shame … that something as great as video gaming and interactive entertainment could be turned upside down and made into such a dark negative thing that can be manipulated by the worst of mankind in order to just plain out take advantage of people at one of the most magical times of year.

Isn’t that kind of like buying a computer with no operating system?

I bet those companies that made the PS3 launch titles are really mad about this. I mean they spend a lot of money making the game and it doesn’t evem sell! WTF! Aren’t games on a new console supposed to sell more at the launch period than other games on the market. If this keeps up you will start 2 see a lot more support of the 360 over the PS3.
