Gears Of War To Sell 1 Million This Year

Microsoft expects Gears of War to sell over a million copies worldwide this year, which would make it the fastest selling Xbox360 title to date.
Gears of War was intended to spoil Sony’s PS3 launch, by going up against Resistance: Fall of Man. Judging by the many reviews of both games, GoF has certainly come on top, and it wouldn’t be surprising if it turned out to be one of the best selling Xbox360 games, until the arrival of Halo 3, of course.

Meh … good for us Gearheads I suppose but I can’t shake the feelings that some reviews have been tainted with some bias towards Gears … yeah it’s great, looks amazing, blah blah blah … but the story sucks … so far anyway … and I am tired of accidently getting stuck to walls and such and becoming an easy target grrrrr! Maybe Gears 2 will correct these issues (and the firearms could pack a little more punch although the shottie is decent).
So it will sell a million … that’s good … it means UT2K10 will be awesome and they can afford to spend more money on developing UE4. And of course they can tighten up Gears 2.

I agree but graphic wise it’s better than the resistance title and the game is really about the multi or coop. The coop makes the SP a lot different and more fun to play. I do like seeing that this is a sign of what will come of these next gen consoles. Halo better equal the graphics and we know the story of H2 was crap and playing as both covenant and the MC didn’t go over well with a lot of folks. One chapter sure but I for one didn’t like it.

But that is a bad game design … NOONE should be forced to play co-op … I like to play shooters by myself and this is the first major shooter that I’ve encountered that actually punishes you for playing by yourself … and that is not right … the game design should have been more open to accodomate everyone since this is supposed to be the killer app it should appeal to a broad audience of gamers. And I agree wholeheartedly about the major issue of Halo 2 … just like you one time as an elite fine, but I bought the game to play as MC … so I was disappointed.

I agree with Anuban. U can’t tell me that the reviews towards GoW weren’t a little biased. None of the reviews really gave you any negatives of the game like the weak sauce storyline or the A button over use. This game was so hyped up and “looks” so good that no matter how imperfect it is compared to the gaming gods(Zelda, Final Fantasy, Halo,Metal Gear, the list goes on)it was going to be deemed perfect.
It will hit the million mark by year’s end but will quickly fall off the charts while other games stay consistent.

Metal gear is also on the 360
so, if you want FF get a ps3
If you want Halo 3 and pretty much every other main title that both consoles shared, 360 and save a few hundred bucks
It will be a year or more before those that want one can get one and no price drops
xmas 07 is a long arse wait
and Army of 2 looks damn good that’s coming soon
