GenImage.aspx.jpgAccording to Reuters, game makers a excited about the Wii, for its new controls, but also because development costs are only half of what’s required for Xbox360 and PS3. THQ said that a Wii game can be developed for as “little” as $5 million, compared to $15 or even $20 million for Xbox360 and PS3 games. According to developer Midway, the Wii uses the same tools as the GameCube, which makes everything easier, and thereby cheaper.

looks like us Wii owners will have a plethora of games to choose from. ;-)

I’m glad Nintendo is really not trying to compete with the PS3 and Xbox 360. I would have to say that the gaming industry needs Nintendo right now. If all we had was PS3s and 360s there would be less sales and software and the whole industry would slowly go down.

Beautiful … just beautiful … I can’t wait to get a Wii … the Wii360 combo with the new HD-DVD takes care of ALL my gaming and multimedia needs and I just love it. My hunger for graphics is more than satisfied by the power of the 360 and my love for fun games is totally accomodated by the fabulous Wii which has won me over completely.

You know what I have come to realize after watching this whole thing since last year with the 360 … Nintendo just gets it. They do … they really do … and you know what I was incorrect in saying they should add DVD playback … no they shouldn’t … they are doing just what they should.

Making a fanstatic and fun GAMING only console … if you want something else you have other choices it is that simple. But if you just to game in an innovative fashion and not bogged with ANY other concerns … then Nintendo and specifically the Wii is the way to go. Viva La Wii.

It just feels so empty without the opposition’s commentary, doesn’t it? I think we may need a new antagonist commenter, not just so he can rile us up, but so we can feel alive once more.

ANUBAN, JUST TO LET YOU KNOW HD-DVD WILL NOT WIN SO IT WONT FILL YOUR NEED FOR GRAPHICS. CAUSE THERE BARLY GOING TO GET ANY MOVIES. I DONT THINK WII WILL LAST LONG BECAUSE, I MEAN , ITS JUST A NEWCONTROLLER. THE GRAPHICS ARE BARELY BETTER, IF AT ALL, THEN GAMECUBE. THEY COULD OF JUST MADE THE CONTROLLER FOR GAMECUBE FOR CRYEN OUT LOUD. NINTINDO WANTS MONEY. THATS PRACTICALLY IT. WHY DO YOU THINK THEY MADE SO MANY GAMEBOYS. SP JUST HAD A BACKLIGHT, ADDED TO IT, AS IF THEY COULDNT AD THAT TO THE ADVANCE.they save things apart so they can get even more money. ps3 will get stronger. everyone is calling critisizing it when it just came out(not to mention no ones played it exept the first 400,000). one thing wii wont have. battlefield bad company, should i say anymore. 90% destructible landscape!!! thats amazing. zelda sounds awesome ill admit. but ill just play it for my gamecube(have ps2 also).

p.s. wii will barely have online stuff. and id like to c you buying stuff off amazzon from your living room, using it.

Well all I can say to that is I am definitely enjoying my new HD-DVD add on for the 360 even though there is no HDMI connection (yet). The picture is beautiful on my large HDTV and the sound is amazing coming through my 5.1 SS system. And at the moment there are more than enough movies for me to enjoy in this new medium (thank you NetFlix). The great thing is if Blu-ray does win the format war MS will make a new add-on and I will still be a happy 360 gamer/HD movie watcher.

As for the Wii … give it 6 months … just give it that much time and lets see what titles reach the market and how well they make use of the new tech. As I remember the 360 didn’t really start getting any praise until Oblivion and DOA4 as well as GRAW. So be patient … it definitely has better graphics than the GC … these are Xbox 1.5 like graphics … devs just need some time to adapt to the whole package.
