Linux Users Banned From WoW?
November 17th, 2006 Posted in News
World of Warcraft, the ever so popular and still growing MMORPG from Blizzard, obviously has many players. A group of them are Linux users. In a routine security check-up, hoping to find botters and other exploits, many Cedega users were banned, recieving emails being accused of “Use of Third Party Automation Software.”
While this is unconfirmed whether the technical crowd of Warcraft are even able to use these programs, it’s unlikely 100% of them are using them. It’s possible that the anti-cheat spyware bundled with the game, called Warden, views Cedega as some type of bot. There is no word from Blizzard.

Ha, you were one of the lucky ones. I lost so many hours to that game, i finally quit after a two week cold turkey while my laptop was in for repairs.

Crazy thing is, if I had the chance, I’d do it all over again. The memories and friends I got are just way too more important than the time loss.
