More PS3 Shipments
November 20th, 2006 Posted in Business
Sony Computer Entertainment of Canada has confirmed that a 2nd batch of shipments of the PS3 will be arriving in North America next week.
“We are flying in shipments from Japan and China, and will probably ship them directly to retail” [instead of to Sony's warehouses], he said.
They expect to have 4 or 5 more shipments before the end of the year, just in time for the Holiday season. Each shipment will have about a quarter of the original November 17th shipment. Previously Sony promised of 2 million consoles for Japan and US this year; so far around 300,000 have been shipped and sold.

So they expect 4 or 5 more shipments of about a quarter of the original 350,000 launch shipment, so that makes 87,500 PS3 times 4 or 5 = between 350,000 & 437,500 more PS3 to ship till year end… far from the 2M figure Sony has been hyping, they will barely match in 2006, the NA initial 2 days launch sales of the Wii…

Better graphics does not necessarily make a better console. The game play on the Wii so far exceeds the PS3. I’m only gettingn a ps3 because it is the cheapest blu-ray player on the market.

your right better graphics doesnt make a better consul but better games do. and what if you want to use a normal controller for Wii? to bad most of the games are useless and no better then the gamecube w/o the motion controller.
