Shortly after a new console releases, it’s not unusual that some sort of technical issues are going to occur. As shown here, a PS3 is encountering an overheating issue after playing 3 hours of Tony Hawk Project 8. It has not been able to start up since.

1i guess thats what those genious’ get for standing in line for days to get something first, its as if they don’t realise nearly everything that comes out at first has problems. maybe their room didn’t have much ventilation, seemed kind of stuffy in there.

4Apparently a LOT of people have problems with their Wii systems too. Not good at all. A lot of errors have occured, but luckily Nintendo replaces free of charge. But anyway, I would be pretty pissed if I had waited for so long time, and paid so much for a PS3 who only works for 3 hours. Same thing with a Wii. I hope that wont happen the 8 of december when I get my Wii. Maybe it’s a good thing I live in Europe. Then they have 3 weeks to fix the bugs. Or maybe not

5There is a HUGE difference between $250 and $600 plus (since you need to buy an HDMI cable for TrueHD). Just keep that in mind. If I paid that much I wouldn’t want to hear NOT ONE SINGLE EXCUSE … PERIOD.

6I pretty much agree. You dont buy an Aston Martin who can only drive 3 kilometers

9Well, from what you can see from the video, he places it back down on the carpet… which is a no no and probably why it over-heated! Been playing mine for hours since I imported it and no worries what- so-ever! I keep it WELL vintilated and off the floor!

10This happened to me also after playing project 8. I have played resistance fine for about 2 weeks beforehand. Hopefully they will replace.

11One person probably related to Steve “Monkey Man” Balmer, having an overheating problem, does not a problem make!!!! Leave it to *ssholes at Digital Battle to dig up a stinky smelly video off YouTube to only prove they’re is probably some M$ money floating around here.
Another similated problem, like the bogus PS3 BluRay eating disks videos that turned out to be fake. This will too. Mark my words!
If there was really any overheating problem, there would be thousands of these videos out there. And how in the world did he just so happen to time his camera at the exact time it happened. Get a Life Nabran Nawaz, cuz you’ll never get one posting junk like this! Your reputation just took a huge dump on your soul!

12Ignorance is Bliss! Just ask “heyyu”!
Quote:”Sony products quality? BS, UMDS? BETAMAX? ATRAC? And now BlueRay?”
You can not question the Quality of Sony Products! Betamax was the king of professional TV and film making the world over for years. Even after the public settled for the cheaper and shabby excuse for video quality of VHS to save a buck.
You get what you pay for. UMDS is another product, that’s Quality can not be questioned! ATRAC and other technology leading edge products have changed your world for the better.
If they hadn’t, Sony wouldn’t be the 2nd largest electronics firm in the world! So take your assinine statement and put it where the sun don’t shine and where it will do the most good! In shutting your kind UP!

16Guys,
First of all, I am no Geek, no Windows or Sony fanboy. I just want to have fun.
I’ve just got a PS3 today. I couldn’t even get to the end of setup. After 10 minutes (yes, 10 minutes), the system pops up a message saying “The system has become hot” and then it shuts down by itself.
And yes, I have plenty of air a ventilation space.
I hope Sony chage the equipment for a working one.

17Прикольно. Значит надо какие-нибудь поправки вносить.
