producer Hironobu Sakaguchi has revealed to Japanese magazine Famitsu that the Xbox360 RPG Blue Dragon, even with compression, will be shipped with three DVD’s, since one DVD could not hold all that they wanted in the game. If uncompressed, Sakaguchi says, the game would take up 30 Gigabytes of space. Blue Dragon should last the average gamer around 40-50 hours. Sakaguchi has also confirmed that there will be a sequel to Blue Dragon.

Blue Dragon took three years to make, and is expected to draw in the Japanese market to Microsoft’s Xbox 360, something that Microsoft hasn’t been able to do since it released the Xbox in Japan years back. The game is expected to do so well over there because Hironobu Sakaguchi is the creator of the Final Fantasy series. Blue Dragon is an Xbox 360 exclusive and is going to be released on December 7th in Japan. No word yet on a North American and European release.
