O’Reilly Criticizes Gamers
In a broadcast today, controversial icon Bill O’Reilly blamed video game consoles for the deterioration of American Society. O’Reilly went on, railing against games as a sort of drug and insulting the intelligence of gamers, saying gamers would be unable to hold down a job.
In one of O’Reilly’s more heated statements, he talks about the alternate reality of games,
“A large portion of the population, mostly… under the age of 45, who don’t deal with reality – ever. They don’t know what day it is… they don’t know what their neighbor looks like. They don’t know anything… because they are constantly diverted by a machine… it takes a person away from reality because they’ve created their own reality…”
Looks like Jack Thompson found himself an ally.

Oh yeah Bill … your POV matter so much to me … especially when it comes to gaming. What would an avid gamer like me do without your wise and compassionate advice? How you haven’t become a Senator or a U.S. Rep when you are obviously so much wiser than the rest of us and them? Come to think of it maybe you should run for President for 2008 … I know then all of our nation’s problems would be solved. HA!

Hey Orielly, I am a 33 year old Male with 4 kids a wife and a full time job,
i must be a rarity…
Talking about can’t deal with reality, fool you just insulted all the people who are coming into leadership positions.
My hope for the future is to see some gaming consoles in the white house!
(If Bush can ride a segway thats a step in the right direction)
We need the children of the computer age in office, people who understand whats going on in the real world.
Not these old people who fear the internet….
but the times they are a changing…

RIGHT ON robby1051!!! If only you could get that jerkwad to grant you an audience … but you know what … he is too technologically incompetent to even begin to comprehend anything you might say. I say we put John Edwards in the White House … at least we know he is either a gamer himself or lets his kids game … you did hear about him not being able to get a PS3 while Busta Rhymes my man (just kidding … I’m not your typical Bro) got himself two … I heard Kobe Bryant got four … one just for Charles Barkely (That big ignorant fool … but he is fun to laugh AT).

doesn’t that asshat realise that gaming is expensive, to have a decent pc nowadays cots a couple thousand, don’t tell me a poor person could afford that. amazing how this guy actually thinks he’s right, if he was your president, no doubt he would be exactly like bush, although go one tiny step further and make himself dictator.

“yo I dont like him , really it was the whole Ludacris drama that made me not like that dude.”
Ya that was messed up. He tells a lot of bullsh*t lies. All he does is surround controversey around himself and it sells. Al Sharpton set his ass straight. Man I wish he could let me be a guess and I would make a fool out of him. Of course If I was winning the argument he would quickly send it to commercials and I would be off-air.

I think these types of guys are afraid (of the internet and gamers) because the younger gaming crowd are the ones who will be a big chunk of running the country or some type of big electronic business in the next 20-30 years.
Basically when they are in their nursing homes they have to sit and watch their biggest enemy sitting in congress or with a nice C.E.O. title of a huge electronic company making tons of money while they can’t do a thing except look forward to bingo night and prune juice.
