Wii’s Power Draw Is One-Tenth Of Xbox360

The Wii definitely is a smaller machine, and is obviously less technologically advanced, although who knew that the Wii uses about one-tenth of the power of the Xbox360 (which makes it use one twentieth compared to the PS3)? This is definitely a relief on your electricity bill. Although, it was sort of a giveaway, telling from the 360’s brick power supply.
Wii:
- In Standby Mode: 10w
- Idle @ Wii menu: 17w
- Running a Wii Game (Test with Zelda / Trauma Center) in 480i: 17w
37″ Sharp Aquos LCD TV:
- In Standby Mode: 40w
- Turned on: 180w
XBox 360:
- In Standby Mode: 2w
- Idle @ Dashboard: ~140w
- Running a Game: ~160w
- Playing a DVD: ~110w

at least microsoft lowered the power greatly when on standyby, but i guess they have experience in that with computers, they are also trying to make new pc’s more greener by using less power and the like.
