Today is the first anniversary of the Xbox 360 in North America. To mark this event, Microsoft have released the video marketplace for North American users. The service allows users to download TV shows and movies, from some top producers.TV shows will be priced at $2 for regular TV, and 3$ for the High definition version. Examples of TV shows already online include the likes of CSI and Star Trek.
The movie section has been split into two sections, one for classics and one for new releases. Newly released movies will be $4 for regular TV and $6 for high definition. Classic movies are $3 on regular TV and $4.50 on a high definition TV. Examples of movies already online include V for Vendetta and The Shining, although movie content is only available for rental, at this point. The system also takes advantage of the Xbox 360’s parental software.
