US To Get 200.000 Wii Units Every Week

November 23rd, 2006 by Matt Stone in Business

111.jpgFinancial firm Lazard Capital Markets says in its latest report that Nintendo will ship 150,000 - 200,000 Wii units every week to the US in 2006. Lazard says that shortages of Wii and PS3 console might result in boost of Microsoft’s Xbox360 console, as Colin Sebastian explains

“Our retail checks and comments from specialist retailer GameStop indicate that there is strong demand for PS3 and Wii ahead of meaningful replenishments, while theXBox360 appears to be benefiting from new console shortages and the release of new title Gears of War.”

Sebastian also noted that 10%-15% of PS3 console purchases are done with intention of reselling, where around 20,000 “used” consoles have been sold on eBay for an average of $1,500.
