NeoGeo Classics On PS3, Maybe Xbox360

November 24th, 2006 Posted in News

neogeocd.jpgSNK Games has revealed to Computer And Video Games that they will be bringing many NeoGeo games to the PlayStation store. They also may be bringing some NeoGeo games to Xbox Live as well.Soichiro Hosoya, SNK Games president, has stated,

We’ve discussed an online delivery service for our classic NeoGeo titles through next-gen formats and Sony Computer Entertainment has agreed to our propositions. We’ve been sending our propositions to Microsoft for a while, but it will depend on their policy for the Xbox Live Arcade. Of course, we wish to launch our NeoGeo titles through Xbox Live Arcade but we cannot tell whether they’ll accept our offer or not at present.

This is good news for all of you hardcore Metal Slug and King of Fighters fans out there…who haven’t purchased the King of Fighters collections that the PlayStation 2 has gotten, or the Metal Slug anthology game that the Wii and PS2 will receive soon. If Microsoft doesn’t accept this SNK partnership, I’m pretty sure it will give Sony fanboys something else to brag about.
