PS3_sort.jpgJohn Hight, director at Sony Computer Entertainment Santa Monica, recently said in an interview with FiringSquad that the download limit for the PS3 is 500MB. Hight said,

We’ve arbitrarily set a limit of 500MB to keep download times reasonable. Since we’ve got plenty of HD space we can accommodate even bigger games and a lot of them.

The Xbox 360 currently has a 50MB limit of space regarding Xbox Live Arcade downloads. The PlayStation 3 has a whopping 500MB, which is 10 times as much as the Xbox Live Arcade service has. Microsoft’s downloading policy is in place so gamers who don’t have a hard drive can fit downloaded games on their 64MB memory card. Both versions of Sony’s PS3 included hard drives, so this isn’t a problem at all. This gives Sony the ability to give gamers more larger downloads than Microsoft.
