500MB Limit For PS3 Downloads
John Hight, director at Sony Computer Entertainment Santa Monica, recently said in an interview with FiringSquad that the download limit for the PS3 is 500MB. Hight said,
We’ve arbitrarily set a limit of 500MB to keep download times reasonable. Since we’ve got plenty of HD space we can accommodate even bigger games and a lot of them.
The Xbox 360 currently has a 50MB limit of space regarding Xbox Live Arcade downloads. The PlayStation 3 has a whopping 500MB, which is 10 times as much as the Xbox Live Arcade service has. Microsoft’s downloading policy is in place so gamers who don’t have a hard drive can fit downloaded games on their 64MB memory card. Both versions of Sony’s PS3 included hard drives, so this isn’t a problem at all. This gives Sony the ability to give gamers more larger downloads than Microsoft.

Yeah .. what is this bs that Sony is spreading … see that is why Karma dogs them. I just downloaded Poseidon the other day which is over 4GB. Sure it took a while but it did complete perfectly. I am not sure what is going on here but if they don’t clarify that or change it to reflect fact I am sure MS is going to come out swinging. This could even been seen as slanderous since it is completely untrue. Maybe they are referring just to arcare games? It is totally perplexing.

Ahhh … that sounds more like it … but then they need to fix this:
“The Xbox 360 currently has a 50MB limit of space regarding Xbox Live downloads.”
It is very misleading.
