Use Keyboad And Mouse On Your Xbox 360
November 29th, 2006 by Matt Stone in Driving, Gear
If you (like many) found the use of controllers for FPS games on consoles, you will be able to hook up a keyboard and mouse to you Xbox 360 and start fragging. The XCM XFPS 360 makes it possible to connect a USB or PS/2 keyboard and mouse on your Xbox 360, as well as a PS2 DualShock controller, if you prefer those. Only downside is that this is probably not an authorized peripheral by Microsoft, and it will probably be banned for giving an unfair advantage to those with a keyboard and mouse.

people that play fps’ on consoles really should be playing with a keyboard and mouse anyway (although it means you kinda need a table and can’t lay on the couch or floor). was thnking of getting one of those for my xbox, but im hopefully getting 360 soon so no point.

The PS3 already supports keyboard and mouse right out of the box. Although Ihaven’t heard anyone using it in, say, Resistance: Fall of Man.

This is pretty cool, how would you configure the keys? I’m certainly going to get this for my 360, which means I’ll need a KVM switch or something too.

We SHOULD? Says who … hmmmm … I don’t like the ‘Should’ word. It’s a matter of personal preference and choice. I, for example, like playing console FPS games with a gamepad but I would never tell someone they should play it that way when there exists other options. And if there were no other options I still wouldn’t need to use the ’should’ word since they would have no choice.

Yeah, K/M are much more accurate and feel more realistic, but Controllers are also great if you want to lay back and play a game on the couch. It all depends where the user likes to play their x360.

I wish it was possible to use K/M on the Xbox360, and I actually think this is a good idea, why shold Microsoft ban this tool if Halo 2 Vista players will be able to play against Xbox players?
I think they’ll allow the product, and if it’s successful, MS will make their own wireless K/M and offer it to 360 owners. And in good old MS fashion, they probably ban everything else

I really don’t care. I’ll still be able to kill the people with the mouse and keyboards in Halo2 and future shooters.(halo3,etc.)

WEll even if they don’t allow muse for fps, they should at least allow it for rts games come on, people who play these games don’t normally use a gamepad, it becomes harder to control anything, it’s just werid…anyways I wish ms will allow the opition of having a mouse in all games…than it won’t be consider an unfair adavantage cause everyone can use what they like better a mouse or a gamepad.
