Vin Diesel Drops Hitman Movie

December 5th, 2006 Posted in Articles

hitman 3.jpgHollywood action star Vin Diesel has left the Hitman movie. He was originally mean to play Agent 47, the bald-headed assassin, but apparently Timothy Olyphant (best known for his part in Deadwood) has got the part.

It was also revealed that French director Luc Besson (The 5th Element, The Transporter) will be producing the move, which, according to plans, will be released in the second half of 2007. Although director hasn’t been revealed (or found) yet, Hitman is written by Skip Woods, who wrote Swordfish back in 2001.

Vin wasn’t the right choice for that role anyway … He should get busy making God of War … that is what people really want to see him in. He is going to be an awesome Kratos … Riddick in Pitch Black is Kratos … well actually Kratos is even more vicious and bloodthirsty but Riddick was pretty close. Here’s hoping he is really dropping HitMan to concentrate on that role.

is the guy from deadwood the one im thinking? old, wrinkly, long hair, not bald? doesn’t really look similar unless i got the wrong guy.

vin diesel sucks anyway, always making cheesy jokes, but i guess he doesn’t write the stuff.

Vin Diesel is stupid as hell , is it me or is he makin bad decisions lmfao . he chose not to be in half the sequals that he made blockbuster hits to do stupid a** movies that didnt do sh*t. I think he should have jumped all over that one. But oh well that dude from the Transporter will easily be a better pick he fits the build and kicks more a** anyway

  4. Anuban Says:

Well he didn’t suck in Pitch Black and he won’t suck as Kratos I know that much … but everyone is entitled to their opinions.

And by the way not playing Hitman was a GREAT decision … that movie is going to bomb big time. Watch. While God of War will be a major hit. And before you start arguing just think of all the cool effects that will be in God of War and just how HUGE of a myth that is … Greek Gods, Cyclops, Gorgons, etc. Vs … Hitman killing normal regular people … wow that sounds so exciting. NOT. At least not to me and I am sure most people will choose to miss that film. Outside of the gaming community it will have almost no Lure … meanwhile people love watching Giant Mythical Beasts and Gods battling it out. So yeah Great move on Vin’s part.

  6. Anuban Says:

Oh yeah … that was a really good solid film and showed he does indeed have some real talent … which is why as Kratos he is going to be amazing. :)

  7. monir Says:

about the god of war film, it seems there was one made in 2005, im confused now, did that one suck and they are re-making it, or is the god of war film you’re talking about the next one?

I just think the guy is to picky , I know alot of actors that would kill to be in the roles he is asked to do, that he just turns down sh*t he aint no Tom Cruise he’s gottin too big headed in my eyes. I still think Hitman will make a cool movie Anuban, martial arts and killing will always sell there is a clever way to do that and the key word is (Action):) as for Diesel I really dont follow him to much , I think he was a bad choice anyway the Hitman needs to know martial arts thus that guy from the Transporter is my pick well he would have been.

Monir you are thinking of Lord of War which is an ENTIRELY different type of movie. God of War is based on the best selling PS2 game developed by Dave Jaffe and the crew at SCEA of Santa Monica.

Greenthumb that’s cool but Hitman may do okay … but it just won’t come close to generating the kind of money and interest God of War will. But you know what if you think differently I won’t argue. And like I said in the beginning Vin was not the correct choice for that movie anyway. So on that we do agree 100%. :)

i don’t know about that anuban, unless my search came up with something fake.

bah why isn’t there an edit button:P

just looked around the site a bit more, its the game, although it says film. crap site.

yeah I think Kratos would be better for him and I’m sure God of War would look pretty good , do to the fact CG is done so well this day and age so the monsters will look nice;). I also hope and wish! someone would make a Devil May Cry, that too would be very cool if done right with the CG graphics for the monsters or demons. I think it would do pretty good if the right person plays Dante and they put the right effects for his devil trigger modes ;)

  13. Anuban Says:

Yeah even though that game was not one of my favorites it would make for an incredibly entertaining movie … of that there is NO DOUBT. That was one amazingly hard game … too hard for my taste. After it took me forever to get past cerberus I said nah … I don’t need the PS2 equivalent to Ninja Gaiden. :)

  14. Anuban Says:

Well God of War is actually a timeless story of the struggle between Men and Gods and in that sense it is bigger than any Video Game. The story is already Epic enough that not much has to be changed in order for this to be a FanF**kingtastic movie. I have no doubt this movie will be a huge success with the critics as well the movie going public. But then again I do love Greek and Roman mythology and God of War is my favorite video game ever. So maybe I am both biased and a little overly optimistic. :)

  15. monir Says:

    cool i will see it:)

  16. Zac Says:

I hope Besson gets Eric Serra to do his soundtrack again. :D :D :D

  17. greenthumb Says:

I agree I think some movies just should not be made ! like Tomb Raider , the only thang good about it to make me watch was it had fine a** Angelina Jolie lmfao other than that it sucked to me . I think another mess up was Resident Evil it has one of the best storylines ever (in the game) but they didnt do it well. I think games like God of War or Devil May Cry have better chances since America has a hunger for Mythology , monsters ,vampire demon slayers or guys with bad ass atitudes like Kratos or Dante ;) those films have better chances but only if the right director brings the best out of the storyline and a great actor takes the role

Nice post Greenthumb … I agree with you on all the points you made.
