3.2 Million Consoles Sold During November

Arcadia Investment has released its monthly report, stating that total console sales in the month of November topped out at 3.2 million. That is a gain of 50% compared to last year, obviously due to the release of two new consoles in November. Software sales also increased by 20%. Retail figures increased to $1.6 billion in November 2006 as compared to $1.3 billion in November 2005.
The Xbox 360 sold at least 500,000 units, 200,000 of which came during the week of Black Friday. Arcadia predicts the Xbox 360 to sell through 4.25 million consoles for the calendar year 2006. The PS3 sold about 200,000 during the month of November, with 600,000 being its prediction for the calendar year. The Wii sold about 500,000 units in November, and will deliver 1.3 million by the end of the year. The PS2 sold 500k, and the PSP sold 350k. The DS sold 600,000, while the GBA sold 500k.

The PS2 AND the GBA sold HALF A MILL each??? didn’t know that many people still wanted one of those.

Yes it is hard to believe people are still buying PS2s but then you have to remember that a game called God of War is coming out sometime early next year and people are probably replacing worn out PS2s. Anyway that is my theory … what other PS2 titles do you folks think are still moving this old console?

maybe call of duty 3? for some reaosn its on ps2, theres also the repetitive sports games which sports fans constantly buy, and this tends to be people that only have a ps2 for that reason. (but that is based on people i know)
