Wii Launches Quietly Down Under

December 7th, 2006 Posted in Business

The Nintendo Wii launch in Australia yesterday was a different experience than the Wii’s launch elsewhere. In other countries, thousands of gamers lined up ahead of time to get their hands on a Wii, however, in Australia, only a few hundred gamers lined up ahead of time across the entire country.

Nonetheless, I still suspect the Wii will do well in Australia, as a large number of Aussies pre-ordered the system. Currently, only the Wii and Xbox 360 are in Australia, with the PS3 joining the party sometime in March, 2007.

You can’t use the Aussie Wii in the USA can you? If you could that could be a potential place to get the Wii for your monthly contests.
