Lieberman And Clinton Aid ESRB Ads

December 8th, 2006 by Colin Newcomer in Articles, Business

The ESRB has recently gotten together with political figures Joe Lieberman and Hillary Clinton to launch a new campaign designed to educate parents about the ESRB rating system. The presidents of GameStop and Best Buy also joined the meeting.
Heres what Clinton had to say about the campaign,

“We all share in the responsibility of making sure our children play age-appropriate video games and I’m pleased that the ESRB and retailers are working together to educate parents about the video game ratings and make sure they are enforced.”

Lieberman also added his thoughts:

“I have long said that the ESRB ratings are the most comprehensive in the media industry. There are many age-appropriate games that are clever and entertaining. Parents should understand and use the ratings to help them decide which video games to buy for their families.”

Both Senators have been involved in video games in the past (you may remember Hillary’s crusade against GTA) and this marks their newest endeavor.

Ahhh … there is our next democratic Presidential hopeful … trying to appear as Presidential and open minded as possible now that she wants votes to put her (and here Husband of course) “back” in the White House … only this time as the Head of the Household. She wants gamers and other open minded people to think she is now okay with gaming, vote for her and just forget about how she used to rail against it. She s so transparent … if she wins the Nomination kiss everything goodbye for the Dems …

This is good for gaming though. Makes it harder for people like Jack Thompson to argue against games.

but this could mean its the parents choosing the game, and age rating doesn’t really show how good a game is, somethign tells me they can’t tell from one game to another ‘it all looks the same to me’ *comparing micky mouse skating to halo*.

  4. Zac Says:

I guess the parents would say “we’ll get yoiu any game you want, as long as it’s in the rating group of your age, Jim.”
