Wii Launches In Europe, Sells Out

The Wii has finally launched in Europe, and as expected, sold out. In UK, where the demand is huge, over 50,000 consoles were sold during the first twelve hours, and all across Europe retailers aren’t able to fill all orders. Nintendo UK boos David Yarnton said,
“We are delighted with the amazing response to Wii and that people of all ages and gaming experience are embracing the way that we are turning the industry on its head. With so many units sold it is great to see that people will be enjoying Wii with their families this Christmas.”
Retailers, like in US and Japan, are expecting new shipments every week. Pictured above is Marwan Elgamal from London, the first European to buy a Wii. There are already Wii consoles on eBay.co.uk going as high as £500, or almost $1000.
