New Zelda Game In Development

December 11th, 2006 Posted in Action, Adventure, Business, GameCube, Strategy, Wii

According to the latest issue of GameInformer, Nintendo has been working on the next Zelda game for a year now. The magazine reports,

“Our sources tell us that the next installment in this series has been deep in development for around a year. It’s highly unlikely that Nintendo would release two Zelda games a year apart, but don’t be surprised if this game comes up sooner than you think.”

Zelda: Twilight Princess was received well when it launched with the Wii last month, and has sold over 450,000 copies in one week in the US. While Twilight Princess is a success, it was a port from the GameCube version which came out only a few days ago. Nintendo will most likely use the full power of the Wii to make the next Zelda game look even better, and hopefully add more streamlined Wiimote controls.
