Another PS3 Scam – $700 For A Box Of Junk
The San Jose Mercury news has a tale of another PS3 buying mishap. A 27 year old gamer had been searching for a PS3, like many others to no avail. He eventually found a seller on Craiglist willing to part with a console for $700, not so bad considering the price they sell for. The man claimed to work at Best Buy, so the two arranged a meeting for the changing hands of the console.
The supposed best buy employee and an accomplice met him in a white Ford Fiesta, they presented him with a black bag, claiming it to contain the ps3 console. When the victim asked to see inside it, the person said “What, don’t you trust me?”. He obviously did trust him as the transaction was completed, and his $700 bought him a bag of floor tiles. The scam was reported to the police but no arrests have been made.
