Despite the Australian Nintendo Wii launch a week ago, according to GfK Australia, an industry tracking company, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 still managed to achieve a week of record sales in Australia. For the week ending on December 13th, Microsoft sold AU$5.8 million ($4.5 million) worth of Xbox 360 hardware and software. Of that AU$5.8 million, AU$2.6 million was spent on actual systems, making it the highest selling week for 360 hardware since the consoles launch.
This stellar week brings the 360’s total Australian sales to AU$145 million ($114 million). For actual statistics, that’s about 100,000 consoles and 400,000 games.
