Only a few weeks ago we reported that Gears of War sold one million copies. Now developer Epic and Microsoft have announced that the game has sold 2 million copies worldwide, 1 million in US alone. This makes Gears of War the fastest selling next-gen title of all time (”all time” being 13 months). Unfortunately, I won’t be able to chainsaw anyone for some time, as my Xbox 360 just went dead. Unlucky me.

That’s insane. Nintendo needs to have sonething pretty fancy up their sleeve to counter this.

I guess I am and will always be in the minority when it comes to this game. Can’t wait until Halo 3 hits the shelves next year and all this Gears talk goes by the way side. Until then I suppose I will just have to tolerate it … at least until I get UT2K7 and start modding so I have zero time to even think about Gears.

Yeah, this kind of feals like a fad. Halo 3 however will most likely have that timeless classic quality that Ocarina of Time had.

Me too I guess. I’ve played enough to know that its good at times but people get mesmorized by the graphics 2 much. It is not a classic. The best part of the single player was the Berzeker moment and even the berzeker is a rip off a Resident Evil 4 enemy.
