The man who has been at the helm of the multi-player portion of Halo 3 for the past 18 months, Mark Hoberman, has issued a statement informing all of the gaming community that he is exiting the doors of Bungie to begin his own Independent Gaming Development Studio which he has christened Certain Affinity. A 10 year Bungie veteran and Halo 2 multi-player lead developer, Hoberman leaves behind a legacy of knowledge which will guide the current team, which he expertly forged, as they conclude the work on Halo 3 he began.

Now he is off to his new company in Austin, Texas where they will continue towards completion of the work they have begun on Halo 2 multi-player maps, apparently for the Xbox 360 platform. The newly formed studio is also beginning development of a bold, new and exciting, currently untitled project for the Xbox 360 platform. Given the enormous amount of industry experience Mark and his team bring to the table, and his strategic partnership with MS Game Studios and Bungie, this title without a name should be on everyone’s radar, as it will in all likelihood be quite incredible.
