Ubisoft Set For EA Buyout?

Two years ago game publisher and developer Ubisoft was approached by software publishing giant Electronic Arts which announced that it was buying a 20 percent interest in the much revered company. Ubisoft did not take kindly at what it considered a hostile move by EA; however, since that time EA has made no further advances on the French based company. But now, in what would be a stunning move on EA’s part if they did indeed heed top industry pundits, and one that would surely alarm gamers around the globe.
Gamasutra is reporting that noted game oriented financial analyst Michael Pachter is openly suggesting that EA either acquire Ubisoft outright or totally divest itself from the smaller competing software publisher. He adds that “With approximately $2.4 billion in cash, EA could complete its acquisition of Ubisoft at any time.

Anyone but EA though I like Ubisoft a lot and would prefer they remain on their own much like Epic has. Imagine if EA bought Epic … now doesn’t that give you nightmares?
