grawvsgow.jpgUbisoft’s recently announced sequel to Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is well in development and is expected to be ready for release early next year. During an interview with CVG, GRAW 2 producer Olivier Dauba mentions how he was bored while playing Gears of War, because he was essentially doing the same thing throughout the game.

Gears of War is always the same to me, from one moment to another I’m always shooting the same guy in the same fashion and I tend to get bored if I don’t get this spectrum of action and this spectrum of emotion.

He continues to say that while GoW is fairly straightforward, GRAW 2 will constantly bring something new, ever changing missions, weather, and enemies.

In my opinion if you play ten minutes of Gears of War it’s an absolutely awesome ten minutes, but if you play 20 minutes it doesn’t bring anything new.

However, Dauba did express gratitude towards Epic and GoW, since they’re increasing the install base of Xbox 360, making it easier for GRAW 2 (and other games) to sell a lot of copies.

I think GRAW 2 will end up being a better game than gears, it might even have better visuals since the original GRAW looked amazing. Although I doubt any game will outsell gears for a long time. Halo 3 long time :D

Of course GRAW2 will be a better game than Gears … everything that guys says about the SP campaign in Gears in pretty much dead on. GRAW2 has a very good chance of beating Gears as lots of people love photorealism and many want something not set so far into the future that is basically a sci-fi story. The GRAW2 story will be much tighter. Anyway again we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

  3. Jim2k Says:

Well we only know that the story continues where the previous ended. If GRAW 2 manages only to deliver what GRAW 1 had, I’m still getting it. Although I was utterly frustrated with GRAW 1 at times, mostly because of the level design.

although i can understand how people find GoW to be repetitive, i personally find it to be a much better game than GRAW. for me, GoW meets my style of play in fps games… being aggressive. GRAW was just a bit to tatical for me, especially dealing with your retard teammates sometime. both are great games, and i’m sure GRAW 2 will be another great 360 title although for me it will be just a filler while i wait for halo 3.
