December 20th, 2006 by Steve Reddish in News

cod3thumb.jpgActivision and Treyarch released some information about a patch for their popular Xbox 360 game, Call of Duty 3. They are in the final tests for this patch and said that it should be out in the next few days. Some of the changes include: joining lobbies faster, the ability to choose what side you want to fight on in ranked matches, and you will receive more games shown when you choose the quick match option.

It was also announced that six new maps would be coming after the holidays. A map called “Champs” will be free of charge, while the “Valor Map Pack”, consisting of five other maps will cost you 800 MS points.

i remember a time when games were almost always 100% complete and did not require the gamer to buy an unfinsihed product resulting in several patches. i hate it in pc games, i’m hating it even more in console games.

It just lets you know the software development and SQA process in game development is completely flawed … they just don’t understand how important it is to thoroughly test their products before releasing them for sale to the public. And because we ALL keep on buying these games as they are things are not likely to change. If everyone could just not buy games for a year then things would get much better … trust me. I can’t do it by myself though … it is hard to resist games afterall … and the devs and the publishing companies know this so they continue to “kick sand” in our faces.
