Microsoft Questions The Longevity Of The Wii

December 20th, 2006 Posted in Articles, Business

wii_controller.jpgChris Satchell, the general manager of Microsoft game development group, has questioned in a recent interview whether the Wii has what it takes to enthrall gamers in the long run. Despite worldwide sales of over a million consoles, where it was sold out in every country it launched, Microsoft is not impressed,

“It’s going to start very fast, it’s a cool thing that’s different, but I’m not sure how big it’s going to be in the long term,”

Chris also criticizes Sony’s online focus in the interview, he does not believe that Sony are taking the right path in terms of online and user generated content.

“I don’t think Sony has the right focus. I’m not even sure, looking at how they execute, that they even think that it’s important.”

Now MS is starting to sound the arrogant assenine fools at Sony and that is an extremely bad thing. Wise up MS and just wait and see … you guys are doing something different so why do you feel so threatened? This is one time I am pretty disgusted with MS and just wish they’d focus on more BC titles, better games, and fix the current issues with their console’s interface … one big bug is that you can’t eject a movie from the HD-DVD once you finish playing it using the remote. Fix that you idiots and let Nintendo worry about the future of their console and you worry about your. Uhhhggg.
