DIY: Black Xbox 360 Controller

Those who loved the matte black color of original Xbox controller can now, quite easily, transform the current Xbox 360 controller into a stealthy black one. All you need is some black vinyl dye color and this guide, and you got yourself a black Xbox 360 controller. You’ll have to take the controller apart and color the individual parts and buttons, but the end result is quite good.

I have a blue skin that completely covers my controller and it has a seriously nice tactile feel to it. My other controller has a tan one which feels equally as good and I didn’t have to worry about voiding my warranty. I love my 360 with its Cobalt Nexus complete skin set and wouldn’t think about doing anything to that one.
Now if I do get another one maybe I will tinker with it since I have this cool XCM black case with Blue LEDs and these LED fans that are just sitting in the corner in the packaging collecting dust.

This looks pretty sweet and authentic. Good job. Does the color wear off? I don’t wanna find my hands with black vinyl after playing

If you really want a black one then why not get the XCM set which also has leds buttons (all the buttons and in a variety of colors … including my personal favorite BLUE) for true night time no lights on at all gaming? I mean if you are going to void your warranty might as well go for the best thing there is.
