PS3s Traded For Wiis
December 24th, 2006 Posted in News
Despite the rather large price difference, some people are willing to trade their PS3 console for a Wii. GigaGames’ Jason McMaster searched through craigslist.org and found that dozens of PS3 owners were more than happy to trade their PlayStation 3 for a Wii, despite costing at least twice as much.
He thinks that one of the reasons could be that some people have bought several PS3s, and are looking for a Wii, hopefully with some cash as well. Another reason suggests that PS3’s are dropping in price on eBay, and aren’t as desired as before. Either way, the whole deal of trading a PS3 for a Wii is quite surprising.

Wow, I know the Wii is amazing but if you were to trade a $500/$600 system for a $250 system, you are losing up to $350 here. It’s one thing to sell a Ps3 and buy 2 wiis with it, in that case no money is lost, but here, you are simply ripping yourself off. C’mon! It’s just common sense.

People want what they want. $600 brick, or not.

Yeah, Nintendo hired a bunch of people to buy a, and sometimes two, PS3’s so they could trade it(one) for a Wii. I could almost see Sony doing something like that, but not Nintendo.
