Madden 07: Top Selling Game of 2006
December 26th, 2006 by Kevin Cortez in News
EA has announced that Madden NFL 07 has sold more than 5 million copies on various consoles and handhelds. Since its release on August 22, the game set records by selling about 2 million copies in its first week. This is a 12 percent increase from last year’s Madden release. The game is out now on all platforms, Xbox 360, Xbox, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, GameCube, PC, Nintendo DS and PSP.
“EA’s Tiburon Studio has once again set the bar for innovation and consumers have responded,” said Todd Sitrin, EA Sports marketing vice president. “This has been an amazing holiday season for Madden NFL 07.” EA claims Madden NFL 07 is “North America’s most popular game of 2006,” based on sales numbers.

Well I wasn’t one of the people who liked it on the 360. I thought it was sub-par for a next gen title and I traded it in after a couple of weeks. I am officially done with all EA titles for a good long while … so that means no NFL video football for me probably for the rest of my life since I just can’t see 2K ever getting the rights to the license ever again. Which is a pity because NFL 2K5 is still the best NFL football game I have ever played. The lack of a half-time show and just the overall garbage quality presentation of the 360 version of Madden just left a sour taste in my mouth.

Oh my, EA pads themselves on the back for a good job they did. BS! There was no “innovation” in Madden 07, people boght it because it was the ONLY football game available, since EA has the exclusive license. How pathetic are these people…

Pretty pathetic actually which is why they will never see a cent more of my hard earned money no matter whose game they are publishing.
