Sony’s own PSOne emulator for the PSP has been hacked by the homebrew community. Now, it can be used to emulate any converted PSOne game ISO using a custom firmware update, not just ones bought from the PlayStation Store via your PlayStation 3. Video after the jump.

    Well. That was quick.

Actually one of the few reasons I ever thought of getting a PSP is because of the great homebrew apps. I’ve seen my friend play GoldenEye on his PSP, sweet stuff :)

Yeah they may have hacked that but no one has yet to hack into that one guys PS3 and alter his website … if they did we would all know since he said he will give that person the PS3. And they still haven’t found a useful hack for the 360 and the HD-DVD format. I know someone said they got the raw data or something but so what … when it can actually be used for something then I will consider that a true hack … like this one.

I think it’s great how you can use the 360’s HD drive on your PC, I’ll have to get one when I see it. It means you can use it as a cheap way of moving your PC into the HD era, including HD DVD’s that have data instead of video.

You meant the HD-DVD drive correct? Because you can’t rip HD-DVD movies from the external HD-DVD device to the Hard Drive of the 360 as far as I know. Maybe I am just not following what you are saying.

Yeah I meant the external HD-DVD drive, and you can connect it to your PC, and I’m betting there’s some way to get your movies on to your PC by doing that, but there’s no way that I know of to do it with a 360. It hasn’t got much of a HDD to begin with, so there isn’t much of a chance of ever being able to. A HD-DVD is 15-30GB, the XBox 360 has a 20Gig drive that by default has only roughly 13Gig free. I guess you could downscale the movie.. but you may as well just get a DVD..

Oh yeah I have the instructions on how to get the HD-DVD player to work on a PC … just don’t have any desire to do it. I’m going to wait for better HD-DVD playback software for Vista.
