Introversion Announces New PC Game

December 28th, 2006 Posted in News

subversion.jpgThe British indie-developer Introversion has announced their fourth game, Subversion. Their previous games were quite successful, both Darwinia and Decfon managed to impress gamers and critics, despite being low-cost productions. Introversion’s Chris Delay says about the new game,

What there will be none of are promises, of any kind. We are not going to tell you what features will be in the final game, nor will we be telling you how the final game will play. We ourselves do not yet know. In fact we will not even be telling you what we are aiming for, as our direct experience with Darwinia taught us how often those aims can change and how different the final game can be to its inspiration.

He goes on to point out that promises usually lead to disappointments, and that the images provided aren’t screenshots of the game, although screenshots and videos will be released in the future.

what they’re doing makes sense, i was disappointed with medieval2, for example, developers said that the ai will keep you on your toes and provide a challenge among other things, the game came out riddled with bugs that made it near unplayable. the only thing that the deveopers did do very well was make everything look pretty and shiny, and thats about it.

never heard about any of those games introversion made.

I tried both Darwinia and Defcon, was totally bored after 5 minutes. Those games were hyped up (by Valve mostly, since they sell them on Steam), and they weren’t nearly as good.

I didn’t even bother trying them … they just appeared to reek of boredom and I couldn’t stand the stench. Glad to hear I didn’t miss anything.
