Nintendo is not only trying to keep up with the demand for the Wii, but for the DS Lite as well. The handheld sold millions in 2006, and was by far the best selling console that year. They have now increased production from 2,2 million per month to a massive 2,5 million units, every month. So far a reported 35 million units have been sold (28 million is the official number), 15 million in Japan alone. As of December 13, 2006, 8,5 million have been sold in Europe, and as of November 30, 2006, 6,5 million in the US.

4Forgot to say, alot of Japanese and other people changed their old DS with the DS Lite, which might explain the huge numbers.

14Since they’re making 2,5 million a month, it means the demand is 2,5 million per month. That’s like 26 million consoles in 2007. Goodbye PSP.
