Halo 3 Screens Leaked

Bungie was kind enough to let the troops stationed in Iraq take the Halo 3 multiplayer beta for a test-drive before almost anyone else, and one of them managed to take a few shots of the highly anticipated first person shooter.

The screen shots are not the best quality, but certainly better than the video. You can see the new HUD system, and the redone map of Spartan. More shots after the jump.

Hey, Bungie, how about bringing in a few Iraqi kids from the streets to show them what a videogame is?

  2. Alex Says:

Hmm… instead of killing Iraqis and being killed by road side bombs, they kill aliens in Halo 3.

  3. Jez Says:

Idiotic americans are everyones enemy dude. You’re president is one of them… crap he’s mine too I just remembered i am a citizen of the US. Now I am embarrassed.

  4. monir Says:

i didn’t know the iraqi kids were the U.S’ enemy. you learn something new every day…

  5. Zac Says:

Kids are kids, they arn’t enemies because of what their leaders do.

  6. umdraco Says:

As a Marine I can tell you that the Iraqui people are not our enemy, once sadam was taken down that war was over and their soldiers stopped fighting. our enemies are from the bordering countries. even tho iraq is on the brink of civil war that has little to do with us

  7. Anuban Says:

I’m just glad out service people got something that could bring them a little joy … they deserve at least that … Bungie should make sure they all get a free copy of Halo 3 when it ships. Now that would be saying something … and wouldn’t be seen as a publicity stunt by anyone. As much as I feel for the innocent Iraqi people caught in the middle this was for our men and women who are putting their lives on the line every day.

  8. Zac Says:

Hmm.. I’d actually see it as a publicity stunt since it’s their game. If they game other games as well, with some that arn’t actually published by Microsoft, THEN it wouldn’t be seen such as a publicity stunt. IMO.

  9. Anuban Says:

I don’t know how giving away 10’s of thousands of a game valued at 59.99 can be seen as a publicity stunt. But that is just my opinion. They would be losing some serious money in the millions. I don’t recall companies being willing to forgo millions of dollars in profit for a simple publicity stunt. I could be wrong though … but anyway to be honest I seriously doubt they would even do it.

  10. Zac Says:

Advertising costs 10’s of thousands as it is. And Microsoft KNOW that giving games away to a, worthy cause, will generate lots of media attention.

  11. Anuban Says:

I’m not talking about advertising costing thousands … MS will spend several million to advertise Halo 3 anyway … we are talking about giving away millions of dollars worth of Software … and yes it will gain media attention … much deserved in this case. But again my opinion vs. your opinion … neither is right or wrong … they are just POVs and they happen to be different.

  12. Zac Says:

Yes I know, I’m just saying that it could count as a form of avertising, whether it’s blatent or not; they’re focusing attention on the brand that they’ll soon be heavily promoting.

  13. The American way, dammit! Says:

Many people outside America like to criticize our goverment and label each and every individual of us.

As an american, I’ll say this:

    Bush sucks

    This war SUCKS

    Halo 3 ROCKS

  14. uguysdont think Says:

ok, heres how it is, the war WAS worth it, unless u want another 9/11. and i agree with the marine, the war in iraq is over, we need to attack the neighbhoring countries

  15. KalmiyaV2 Says:

Dude, I don’t really envy them. The game isn’t even done yet. Pressing ‘X’ will still crash the system. But the gesture is clear. These guys are going off to war to be able to pay for college, to support families. Same with the people in the Middle East. I think any wars or conflicts should be settled by video games. Just get the leaders together and have them play eachother.

  16. Monarky Says:

Well giving games free to soldiers is a stunt it’ld still be a good one. I think returning soldiers ought to at least get a percentage off a Premium X360 Package if not a free game as well. MS is going to sell a ton of Halo3’s. So many it’ll dwarf even Gears!

Only natural for sales to increase the more owners that have X360’s! K-Mart’s near bases are giving 10% off the consoles and games for both X360’s, Wii’s and PS3!!! It’s only right! Must show military ID though!!!

  17. i like halo 3? Says:

    uhh….hi

  18. "Jez" hater Says:

Fuck you Jez, we’re the greatest country on Earth and we have freedom, thats why every other contry in Asia is our “enemy” dumb fuck.

  19. "Jez" hater hater Says:

What criteria are you using to call us the greatest country on earth? The fact that we are one of the largest waste producers on the planet? Or the fact that almost every successful company started in america ends up in those “enemy asia countries”? Oh, maybe its the freedom? We certainly say what we want.We practice that on a daily basis, promoting sex, drugs, and violence. Aside from being bombarded with this kind of influence I dont see the freedom that we as Americans claim to have. Dumb fuck.

  20. alex Says:
