GameSpot’s Greg Kasavin Resigns

kasavin.jpgGameSpot’s long time editor-in-chief, and one of my favorite GameSpot correspondents, Greg Kasavin resigns to pursue a career as a game developer. The Russian-born Kasavin joined GameSpot in 1996 as an intern, working his way up to editor-in-chief, and eventually becoming one of the most respected gaming journalists around. He didn’t mention what developer he’s working with, but did write on his blog that it was “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get my foot in the door and contribute to one of my favorite gaming franchises.” I wonder what franchise he’s talking about.

Kasavi was also my favourite, he was probably the only GS member that was totally unbiased and had a journalistic approach to his reviews. Unlike Geff Gertsmann, an Xbox 360 fanatic who reviewed Zelda… right after giving 9.6 to Gears. Go figure…

Ditto, Kasavi was the only gamespot editor who’s reviews I actually listened to. I probably won’t be visiting GS anymore now he’s gone. I hope he does really well in his new line of work, I’ll look forward to it.

Yes I would have to agree with the above statements … I wish him well and have to congratulate him on getting his foot in the door to gaming development. I just hope the same thing happens to me within the next two-three years.

As for GG … he has shown his true colors and gets ZERO respect from me.
