While giving no official date, representatives of Steam have announced that a Winter Update will come next week. It will feature a new appearance with the ability to choose up to five different colors. One of the big updates is a Guest Pass, which allows those who own Steam games, either purchased online or retail, to let a guest play a game for free for a limited time. Another feature that many users asked for was the ability for Steam to update in the background, so that they wouldn’t have to do it while they waited for Steam to load. It will auto update, tell you what updated, and when it is finished, ask you if you want to restart your computer or not. Steam will also have a Favorites section under the “My games” tab for easy access of the games you play the most.
