Microsoft Disappointed With Sony’s “No-Show”
Microsoft Europe’s Xbox VP, Chris Lewis, has told MVC that he was dissapointed by sony’s “no-show” over the christmas period, as he states that his company would have liked to have a bit of “friendly competition”.
“The lowlight of our Christmas was the lack of anything from our main next-generation competition. We were looking forward to some friendly rivalry and the chance to prove that games look and play better on Xbox 360 – but Sony didn’t show!”
He also took the opportunity to praise UK retailers for the excellent jobs they did with their bundles. He did however refuse comment on how the Christmas sales figures compare to previous ones.
“It’s difficult to compare Xbox 360 in Christmas 2006 to the previous year. This year we had plenty of stock, a fantastic portfolio of games and some great retail offers and the difference it made was significant. We’re very pleased with our Christmas performance.”

Now this is what I do NOT like to see from MS … this new Sonyesque boastful attitude … they need to just keep working on ways to make the games even better and make some improvements (HDMI, Larger HD, etc.) to the 360. This is the kind of behavior I don’t like … let Sony be the ones to put their foot in their mouths … when you start getting a bit full of yourself it usually comes back to haunt you.
Of course the other way to look at it is this: They got tired of taking all that crap Sony was saying about the things they are/were doing and the lack of 1080p among other things and felt the need to give Sony a bit of their own medicine. Still I would prefer MS be a bit more humble about how well they are doing in comparison to Sony because the war has just started afterall and there is no real way to tell if Sony will make a comeback and how strong that comeback will be. If Sony manages to start kicking their butts in 2008 and start talking smack (again) MS will look MIGHTY foolish for saying this stuff. So Microsoft please just be silent and keep working hard at maintaining the lead you have ammassed. You look classier behaving in a humble manner anyway.

And I do have to add it wasn’t as if the Xbox 360 launch didn’t have its fair share of real problems. Most of titles sucked to be honest about it (they were NOT next gen in the least … PD0, Gun, King Kong, Madden 06, yuck!) and lots of people did have to return/replace their consoles.

Ahh, relax Anuban, that’s what these people do, they smack talk each other whenever they can, but MS has at least a reason to smack talk. Sony should just shut up and start focusing on delivering some decent PS3 games.

The reason he had no comment on last Christmas for Xbox360 is it was a no show then. PS3 has doubled what they did last year, so if Sony PS3 is a failure, what does that make the X360?
Yep Alex lots of smack talk in here as well as between the console companies as well.
I say just enjoy the games. I am having so much fun on the PS3, don’t have time for this. I’ll be playing Resistance online. PS3network tag is MoNaRky
Need me I’ll be there. If anything interesting or wonderful happens here, like Anuban saying something positive for once, let me know.

£600 here… no lower options. no more like a shitty 3x £200 (360)
