   WoW i wanna sue someone… huuu Sony… for huh… That one thing… Ya, I have a case and Ill get Millions!!!
   Well if they did Patent it then they do have a right to sue, Sony had to pay 90 million for they Duel Shock thingy a few years back. What the Hell are they paying Research and Development for!!!

   Haha, only in America! Companies that sue for stupid reasons and patents should be fined big time. Unless they’re right, of course.

   It’s just a few blood sucking deviants out to make a quick buck. They put out a very general patent that could be anything as bait, set the trap and wait for someone to make something like it. Then they sue them!

   Imersion started the whole trend. The patent laws and courts are so overwhelmed that they can’t handle it and make bad decisions. Easy money for a company able to push a lawsuit through. If somebody is going to sue, they ought to at lease have an actual single product to sue over.

   Just like Imersion taking a general patent out, then waiting for everyone to use it in some way including those who already had used it prior to their patents. Then and only then suiing over it. That patent is so general it could be anything from a woman’s vibrating dildo to an electric razor.

   Don’t expect Imersion to win again, against Sony in the rematch! Microsoft is out of the deal, sold their Imersion stock and Imersion is not making much money. You know! The backdoor money spent with Imersion to take a bite out of Sony. Microsoft is famous for backdoor funding lawsuits against the competition. They did it against IBM, one too many times now and are paying the price.

   Microsoft got caught in the recent IBM vs SCO (Unix) lawsuit. That lawsuit over Linux is now dead and IBM has canceled all Windows license renewals (1000’s). They dropped all their plans to buy Vista and now will just be using Linux. Motorolla did the same thing then, after seeing what M$ did to their partner. They have been followed by other large Corporations dropping Windows license renewals and buying Vista. Don’t expect Vista to make half the splash now that Microsoft has been exposed for who they are and how they operate! Notice now on Moto Phones, they have their new Linux OS running. Many Many more cell phone companies are now choosing Linux as well. HP and Dell now offer Linux along with many others. BTW Moto’s new Linux phones are Killer interfaces!

   ***Notice Imersion Lawsuits against any small companies who make Dildos for women and 100’s of other companies that susposedly use their technology.

   Oh my Annascape? Now this is even better. The Fenner is not much of a threat to Sony, but this will have Microsoft and Nintendo packing all their lawyers into court for months if not years. Maybe Sony wasn’t so dumb after all for not including rumble technology. They probably found these patents when they were going through their Imersion searches for Heptic Technology.

   Fun, Fun, Fun looks like Force Feedback is going to be kicking Microselfish’s and Nintendo’s rear ends in and shaking things up in their pocketbooks! Hilarious to see what goes around, comes around! This is not going to be some tiny fly swatable lawsuit either.

   Well I don’t want to be mean, but if this company gets an injunction against X360 and Wii, they will be pulled from the market and Sony and I will be laughing all the way!

   Something needs to be done about the patent system no two ways about it. Microsoft is battling at least 30 of these kinds of lawsuits. Nintendo at least 10 and Sony over 15. Then we have the wonderful Moral minority trying to tell gamers they’re all bad people. You Germany on the verge of outlawing any games that depict killing of humans.

   Must be some kind of joke, but obviously the courts don’t think so. Before long the console and game maker will be suffering from PTSD and ducking for cover when there is no threat. That Anascape lawsuit is in preparation for some court appearance very soon. This newest Fenner case is still some time off.

   The reality is none of us should celebrate any of these companies getting sued cuz eventually it’s our pockets that get picked!

   True words indeed monarky. It’s the consumer that always picks up the tab on these things.

   I think it’s a bad thing that the good ol’ usa imported, the right to be able to sue for incredulous amounts of money. Law is more than anywhere else a big business there, and the whole world suffers from it.

   But I’m rehashing words every other (non fanboy / non attorney) person has been saying for as long as I can remember.

   rematch? I don’t get it. Immersion won twice already resulting in an over $90 million judgement against Sony. Even if Sony decided to appeal the court’s decision again, it still wouldn’t look good for them- especially after considering the decisions of the lower courts. Sony must really believe in their legal team!

    No Imersion won a jury award in the main trial. The woman judge refused to hear any futher arguments from Sony. Sony had gone through exhaustive Patent Research and found a prior Patent holder to the invention of rumble technology. They then paid this patent holder for using their patent in recognition of him being the proper technology patent owner.

    The judge refused to let this rightful patent holder testify on Sony’s behalf. Sony appealed and the appeal was upheld by a subsequent re-hearing as they had to use the evidence that had been submitted in the trial. She mistakenly misjudged it as a paidoff testimony. It is still in the process of Patent litigation to establish it as the rightful Patent to this technology.

    If he is found to legally hold the real patent, Imersion will be sued as his Patent will supersede theirs. Sony has appealed for retrial. Which has been granted. This is why Sony is withholding all payments to Imersion. At the same time if Sony would have used Imersion Rumble Technology, they would have more than likely been in contempt of the injunction against using it, and would have had to remove all PS3’s from market. They couldn’t take the chance. Now other feedback patent holders are suiing just Nintendo and Microsoft as they are the only ones using feedback or haptek technology.

    Expect this to all get very hairy before it’s all over. As if it wasn’t already! But yes, Sony could very well win this appeal under a different judge. So since Imersion is not really worth much right now after Microsoft sold their shares back it looking grimmer by the day. Imersion is on the verge of bankrupsy again and can ill afford to even be in court against Sony. Since Imersion has no power to collect the original jury award from Sony! Imersion’s value is less than half of the jury awarded them. What a joke! Want to get rich? Sue somebody!

    Countersue-ing, interesting.

    I really hate America’s uberlaw system, which is totally flawed, corrupt and most of all unconstructive. WAht’s with the jury’s anyway?

    You eat too many burgers? SUE!
    You killed your classmates after a dumb movie? SUE!
    You drank your coffee too fast and got burned? SUE!

    In all other countries this sounds totally ridiculous, and it is. Lets hope America will reduce their silly lawyer army in the upcoming tight years for them.

    some very enlightening info you just dropped on us, monarky. i’m definately going to research that lawsuit more thoroughly.

    i’ve seen Sony receive so much criticism for not implementing rumble technology in their controllers for the PS3. Yet, it later proved to be a safer/smarter move for the company. now look who’s getting sued! lol.
