The ever popular MMORPG World of Warcraft is currently played by 8 million people around the world. The biggest WoW population comes from China, with 3,5 million subscribers. Next up is North America with 2 million, and finally Europe, with 1,5 million. Blizzard and publisher Vivendi have lowered the price of the game to $20, although the monthly subscription is still $15.
The first expansion, The Burning Crusade, will be released next week for $40, with the limited Collector’s Edition going for $70. However, since there are potentially millions of WoW players interested in the Collector’s Edition, the price on eBay has sky rocketed to over $400.

2I haven’t played WoW in almos a year, reached level 30 or something then it just became trivial. But I’m definitely getting the expansion, another 20 levels won’t steal too much of my time

3No way man WoW is way badass, Its one of those you have to play to know what the whole WoW thing is about. I play and I feel that $15/month is a good price :), Eq2 on the other hand, $15/month is a ripoff. That game I hated(looks nice), but hated.
I hope they open more servers, I hate waiting 30+min to play. I hit 60 back when the servers were low to mid population, Now its kinda stupid. They need to offer character transfer for free on all servers.
Monir to clear it up
Worst game ever made… Superman64

5Well thats the thing, money comes and goes. but time does not. I know when its game time and when its Family time. I play about 3 out of the 7 days for about 3-5hrs, depends on the raid. I think my WoW time is good. Freaks play and play and dont care about anything but there online life. Thats Dumb. They should limit online play per day like FF11. You are only allowed 8hrs a day. to me thats still way to much. You are intitled to your opinion about WoW but I Love the game and would never talk bad about it, just about those who leave the real behind and dont have a job just so they can get that 5th character to 60 and prove to noobs at low levels in a contested area that there azz holes.
and for the record superman 64 was freakin LAME!!!

6I agree, I alsmot lost a friend to WoW addiction. He lost his social life. Now that he’s getting back to a normal life, the expansion is just around the corner. I’d hate to see him get sucked back in. Of course, we’ll play a few levels together

7Sony’s EverCrack, I mean Everquest is the same way. Now there’s two blood sucking games destined to make some of your friends disappear off the face of the earth.
I go into friends houses playing those two games and there’s no food. They haven’t shaved or taken a shower in days if not weeks and they won’t even stop to talk to you! They lose their jobs, girlfriends and still don’t get the hint, somethings wrong.
I’ve seen drug addicts in better shape!
