CES: The $15k Racing Chair

For $15,000 you could buy a pretty decent car, but why bother when you can get the ultimate racing chair for the same money? The D-BOX GP-100 racing chair features full “three axis motion” so you get feedback when turning left/right and accelerating. D-BOX, the Canadian manufacturer says future updates of the chair will even include modules for other types of games, FPS, Sports, Flight Sims and so on. Although I find hard to see how you’d “play sports games” sitting in that thing. Video of the thing in action after the break.

Acutally it’s not just a chair, it moves and shakes like a real car, I can imagine putting a 40″ 1080p screen right in front of it and taking Gran Turismo HD for a spin

Yeah, nothing virtual so far comes close to driving an actual car. Maybe this thing can pull it off. Kinematics and full force feedback would make driving games more realistic and easier to drive imo. I would never pay $15k for this though, may as well get a car.
