Sony Releases Champagne PSP In Japan

What do you do when your portable console is hopelessly behind the competition? You release the portable in a sweet celebratory color, Champagne! Yes, this will most certainly make people buy thousands of PSPs, not to mention millions of UMD movies. For who doesn’t like champagne? Luckily, Sony won’t charge premium for the Champagne (or pee?) colored PSP, as it will retail at $175 as all the other PSPs. It lands on February 22nd in Japan, a western version is unknown.

maybe they should adpot a tier type thing for psp, bronze for the poorer people, silver for the meh people, and the really cool and hip sony fans can get a GOLDEN psp worth only $300. that would be great!!1pwnzer!!!

I really don’t why they’re doing this… The PSP is getting owned by the DS, and this is how Sony tried to win the battle? Don’t they have anything better to do that make colorful PSPs?

Yes, Sony, this will indeed make people buy the PSP. Oh why didn’t they release the original in this pee color? It would most definitely blasted the DS in sales!

If you check those NDP stats, ***Sony*** still wipes the competition off the face of the earth when you total up all their console and portable sales up and stack them up to all of Nintendo console sales!!!! Microselfish????? Well with Xbox “DEAD” they only have Xbox 360, so just feel sorry for them like I do!
You after coming in here and seeing all these wonderfully ignorant posts, I hanged my mind. After seeing all these grotesque posts by X360 and Wii fans here, I think I’ll stick to Sony Quality products. And to think I was going to buy a Wii and another X360! I should have learned with first X360 heat monster cooking itself. But it took the good ole fabulously wonderful “Error 71″ 2nd console death and coming in here to realize the error of my thinking! I Don’t Want to END UP LIKE THEM, is my horrid nightmare thought right now! Thanks for the education!!!!

monarky, you sad gypsy, i am no fanboy at all. i prefer pc gaming to anything anyways, i just get annoyed when things like a ‘champaigne’ colour come in to make it seem hip and cool. i hate the pink colour of the psp/ds just as much, and i dislike nintendo a bit after their gamecube. so stop making assumptions and get a life, christ you make it seem like peoples opinions on things makes any difference anyway.

^agreed mostly. but the colour isn’t offensive, its just irritating that they called it champagne, when its gold:P
