If you want to avoid the number 13, then you might want to avoid The Buried Sea, the thirteenth expansion pack for EverQuest… or not, if you’re a MMORPG junkie. Fittingly, the expansion will be available on February 13 for $30.

The Buried Sea will feature new missions, ship-to-ship combat, two new paths of advancements, fellowships and more. The most significant updates are the Guild Banner creation tool and the Energeian items. The former will let users create a unique banner from a large selection of symbols and colors; it will become the mark of the guild and when enough guild members are nearby, guild leaders or officers can plant the banner in the ground, letting members teleport directly to that banner. As for the Energeian items: players will gain access to a new inventory slot that can be fitted with an Energeian power source and armor that can tap into the energy held within.

The EverQuest base game, and a subscription, is required for the expansion. Pre-orders begin on January 16.
