New StarCraft Game In 2008?
January 17th, 2007 by Kevin Cortez in News
At a recent World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade launch event, Blizzard’s vice president of business development and international, Itzik Ben Bassat, hinted that a new StarCraft may be coming in 2008. While he took the stage at the London event, he stated to the audience:
I’m a StarCraft player myself and I hope it’s not a decade, and we launched StarCraft in 1998, before I’m standing here again, celebrating the next game in the series.
While this news is not official, it’s highly likely that we will see a new StarCraft game by 2008.

I’ve been hearing tons of rumours about a new StarCraft game, like World of StarCraft to compete against WoW, but I’ve seen nothing official about that either.
I wonder how big a fanbase there is out there for StarCraft still to get into a new game of it?

Apparently Korea still plays the game, I think they’re SC biggest and most loyal fanbase to be playing so comptitvely for so long.

Imagine a million Korean StarCraft gamers waiting in line for StarCraft 2?
I have no idea why they still play it to this day. Blizzard could at least make them a 3D remake or something.

They play it not because of the graphics, but because of it’s brilliant balance and control, and it’s different ranges of unit types and spells lend to creative strategies. Because of this mixture it’s a great way to test a person in skill not only from their macro and micro, but their minds as well.
