Time for me to laugh. When the first video footage was released and also discussed on DB I said that it didn't look all that unique and rather dated gameplay. I got burned, o''oh ps fanboy this, ps fanboy that'' blablablla

Guess I .. got.. a ... professional view BHAA

I have to say that I like this game, I don't think it is a KILLER app but I do like it. It is far too easy though, and I cant help but see a trend in games now-a-day's. The trend is to make games that would be a great online romp but pass off the single player that is just so-so. I for one will not play-to-play, and have no interest in playing online with zit faced snot nosed brats that swear too much and love the word "FAGGOT." I played "Gears" and thought it was okay... the graphics were good but Gears was made to be an online game I feel. I also see that with Lost Planet. The single player mode is FAR too easy in nearly every way but I do enjoy going at the missions in different fashions. It is just a shame that the polish and scope seems to be shrinking. Just my two cents-

I don't like the 90 degrees turn mechanism (to me it is disorienting) and I did not know that the speed of the normal turning was adjustable so thanks for that bit of information. However, that doesn't change how I feel about the game ... there are other things I don't like but as I said I will probably buy it at some point.

lol, the idiot in IGN complained about the 'vsyncing issues'... all the games characters have pre-programmed motion blurring... like m$ says, its not a bug, its a feature.

Erm, the top 2 front buttons (above fire) will turn you instantly 90 degrees, also the speed of the normal turning can be adjusted in options...

Those reviews are pretty much spot on I would have to say. After playing through the first couple of chapters I already noticed that some of the design choices were wacky to say the least. In the Shooter genre not being able to turn quickly is not a good choice to make and not being able to shoot straight up just plain sucks. I also don't like having to always worry about collecting thermnal energy to stay alive but at least so far that has not been an issue. Graphically the game is damn nice but I guess it was more impressive when I saw it last year before R6V or Gears of War. Still the graphics are nice for the most part. I am renting this now but chances are I will end up buying it ... but I'm going to wait for a used copy.
