Microsoft’s GTA-killer Crackdown has gone gold and is expected to hit the stores on February 22. According to Microsoft, a lot of people have already pre-ordered the game, if only for the Halo 3 beta key. According to Major Nelson, the demo will be released on Tuesday for Xbox Live Gold members, while it’s unknown when Silver members will get a chance to check it out.

Crackdown is a open-world action game from GTA-creator David Jones, where it’s your job to clean the corrupt city of gangs and criminals. Oh, and you can also throw cars.

I wasn’t really interested in this game even when the Halo 3 beta key was announced. For some reason, however, I seem interested in it now. I’ll see how the demo goes and I may just go pre order it. Halo 3 will be an “extra” if I like the demo.

I’m really looking forward to this game. Changed my Lost Planet pre-order to this game. It is going to be a blast to play a Supercop in the future. I even like the unique art look and at first I wanted realistic graphics but this style is pretty cool once you give it a chance.

I’m looking forward to this too, but I won’t buy it untill I’ve seen some decent reviews and video reviews of it. If it’s like a sci-fi version of Saints Row then count me out…

Well the demo will be available on Tuesday so you will be able to check it yourself up close. Me I already know it’s a game I really want so I will probably skip the demo and just be totally surprised when I get it.
