According to CNN Money, Google is looking to buy in-game advertising firm Adscape Media Inc., in a move to expand its advertising empire. Details are unknown, but sources are telling the Wall Street Journal that the deal might be completed sometime next week. Google is expected to earn around $10 billion from its ad sales this year, and have also expressed interest in radio, newspaper, and television ads as well. Last year Microsoft bough Massive Inc., and Intel invested in IGA Worldwide, both in-game advertising companies.

  1. Alex Says:

I wouldn’t be surprised if Google went and bough game publishers themselves. Ubisoft has been rumored to be interested in selling the shares to one major company.

Google has over 10 billion in cash now, of course they’re gonna go buying as much as they can. I sure would.

I’d extract the cash and invest it in something stable like gold.

E-businesses are so irregular, they come and go so fast. Anyone remember altavista, napster, worldonline? Google shouldn’t expand too far, just more investment costs, on new markets they got zero knowledge of. But who am I.
