Halo 3 Assault Rifle Details Revealed

Bungie continues to release small bits of info about Halo 3, this time new details about the main assault rifle in the game.
The MAC5 assault rifle will return after being left out in Halo 2, and will be somewhere in the middle between Halo 1’s MA5B and Halo 2’s BR55 Battle Rifle. The gun won’t have any alternate fire, but you will be able to use the butt of the gun as melee attack. You can find a lot more technical information about the gun here.
The Halo 3 multiplayer beta will begin soon, and if you want in, the easiest way will be to buy a copy of Crackdown, scheduled for release late-February.

Oh come on, this is the last chance to do something meaningful, and Bungie is doing updates. They should create some wierd and origianl weapon, like the stick nade, or the zero gravity.. uhh.. thing.
